The accident was not so little and required a flight out

They did another x-ray and discovered that his wrist was actually broken in two directions and even though it was uncasted for almost a week they were able to put on a cast. The cast needs to stay on for 6 weeks and can be removed in Whale Cove. We are now staying at the INNS North. We are stuck in Rankin Inlet until the next flight to Whale Cove which is on Sunday. So lots of walking around. This village is about 1500 people and after 3 months in Whale Cove it seems really LOUD. Guelph will seem like a monster. There are two galleries and we are planning to look at some Inuit Art and maybe ship it home. It is so great to have all of this fully funded by the Government of Nunavut. We ate in a Road House restaurant and had DIET COKE. Such a sad "first world" thing to miss. So we have two and half days to kill. Time to relax. Ian is enjoying his fancy fiberglass cast. We don't have a sharpie with us, so no signatures for today. It is nice to know that his wrist is immobilized and set to heal. What an interesting experience.
Glad it was treated and gave you an adventure, without too traumatic an injury. It is probably part of a true north experience. Enjoy the 'sights'
ReplyDeleteHe looks quite happy in the pic. Must have been the diet coke. It's a good thing they have a functional health care system for accidents. Best of luck with it all...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. We were hoping it would turn out well. Spring is finally here in Suburban Chicago. Buds on the trees and 73 predicted for tomorrow, Easter Sunday.
